Odor kill will make a substantial improvement. We cannot guarantee that the cigar smoke will be totally removed. Here's some tips on how to treat it. The Odor kill solution of multiple enzyme systems and molecules functions just like little "pacmen," which very aggressively attack and digest the organic matter molecules. The Odor Kill enzyme/molecules must come in contact with the organic matter molecules in order to digest them. They work in the presence of food (organic matter), oxygen and water. When the area dries, the enzymes cease functioning and cannot be regenerated with water. The mixed solution must come in contact with the cigar smoke molecules in order for it to digest them. If there is residual smoke molecules that could not be reached by Odor Kill, they will not be digested and removed. So, it will be important to get the solution as deep as possible into the fabric and suede. Odor Kill will probably take out almost all of the odors by just spraying a damp mist solution (20 parts water and 1 part Odorkill), then hand rub it lightly into the coat, inside and out. So that the solution comes in contacts with as much surface area as possible. If it doesn't do it completely, and then I would suggest hanging the coat out in an open room, turn on a fan towards the coat, spray the coat and then mist ATX ODOR KILL in front of the fan. Repeat in another half-hour or so. Please remember that the wet suede may have a smell of its own. Be sure to check for water fastness in a hidden area. This is a water-based solution. Gasoline Spilled on Coat Thanks for your email. Yes, Odor Kill will remove the gasoline from the coat. First, be sure that it is colorfast and water will not damage the coat since Odor Kill is a water based enzyme product. Mix 1 part water and 5 parts Odor Kill saturate the area where the gasoline spilled on the coat. Then take a warm damp cloth and cover the area for a few hours. Then check the area for gasoline odor. If it is still present, then retreat. It may take a few treatments. Then let it dry. Check it again. Repeat until the gasoline has been completely digested by the Odor Kill solution. The more gasoline contamination on the clothing or other area requires more Odor Kill enzymes to digest the fuel. They can only work so fast. Mix 1-quart hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup of baking soda 1 teaspoon of liquid soap-- dove or dawn Stir it and apply to your dog. Here's some more info. on applying odor kill: Odor Kill can be used on the dog's face. It is a water based enzyme solution. I would avoid spraying directly in the eye area, just use a saturated cloth and wipe it in the face area. Odor Kill can be used at any time. This will definitely eliminate the odors. Just follow the directions and mix it 10 parts water and 1 part Odor Kill. You can spray it on the dog and rub it into the coat. Or give it a bath in the solution.
